ASFAR Signs Landmark MoU with Hail Region Development Authority to Transform Hail’s Tourism Landscape

Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, November 2024: ASFAR, the Saudi tourism investment company, signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Hail Region Development Authority (HRDA) to invest in the transformation of Hail’s tourism landscape today at Cityscape Global in Riyadh. This groundbreaking agreement will aim to transform 50,000 square meters of land into an urban resort, marking ASFAR’s inaugural venture in Hail, one of eight cities in the company’s investment strategy.

Both Omar Al Abduljabbar, CEO of the Hail Regional Development Authority and Dr. Fahad bin Mushayt, CEO of ASFAR  attended the signing ceremony.

Omar Al-Abduljabbar emphasized that the Hail Region Development Authority is dedicated to fostering cross-sector collaboration to identify and cultivate diverse investment opportunities that underscore Hail’s unique status and strategic location. He highlighted that HRDA’s primary objective is to enhance Hail’s competitive edge and attract investors by leveraging the region’s abundant comparative advantages, including its breathtaking natural beauty, varied terrain, rich cultural heritage, and moderate climate.

Al-Abduljabbar further stated, “This strategic partnership with Asfar marks a pivotal step towards realizing our vision of positioning Hail as a premier investment destination, fully aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. By promoting sustainable development and significantly enriching the local economy, we are confident that Hail will emerge as a major player in the tourism sector on both national and international stages.”

The new urban resort will feature over 100 hotel keys and diverse food and beverage offerings, alongside a traditional souk, addressing existing gaps in world-class retail and hospitality options in Hail.

Commenting on the importance of this collaboration, Dr. Fahad bin Mushayt, said: “Our partnership with the Hail Development Authority through this MoU underscores ASFAR’s commitment to transforming Hail into a vibrant tourism hub. By investing in this region, we aim to leverage its unique attributes and enhance the hospitality and retail offerings. Together, we are unlocking Hail’s potential to attract both domestic and international visitors, driving economic growth and elevating its status as a premier destination.”

The agreement is part of ASFAR’s ongoing efforts to collaborate with government entities across the Kingdom, strategically securing exclusive investment opportunities for private sector partners to drive growth in the Saudi tourism industry.
